In the hectic world

In this hectic world, you need to find one thing that just releases your stress.
For me it's shopping especially at Carnaby street or Portobello market on Saturdays from 7am! That's the best time to stroll around and you will find the most creative of things. Vintage classics such as the camera that's at the shop right. I love it!

One has to have a skill to shop vintage, I don't have the patience so normally the only things i'll buy vintage, are like classic lighting, home stuff (tables, lights, mirrors), my favourite of all is those classic bags Oh My God I want one just to decorate at the shop. Since, I am actually thinking of giving the shop a face lift, like a vintage classic, Katherine Hepburn look (chandelier, pearls and travel bags as deco).  I love vintage telephones too, they add a certain classiness to this digital world!
Won't that be cool!
Mmmh!

I'm already excited but lately I don't get time because of my career but i'll get there soon!

I need retail therapy or to go swimming and relax at the beach... mmh! I wish, or rather I hope to get time!

By the way, there's a certain misconception about the word Vintage, vintage can be anything new or second that is from a certain era. I love the 60s! The word itself was a terminology used when describing  Wine. It adds a certain elegance to the fact that it is from the old!

So Think Vintage! Mmh, We call my best friend Vintage... what elegance she has and never changing self!

Above all : ) keep Smiling and visiting FT!

Gypsy Fresh

I absolutely love how these looks are layered and so gypsy inspired yet modernised!

Tomorrow I will show you how to do colour blocks! How to team to different colours almost like a clash yet the compliment each other so well.

Have a refreshing Tuesday Evening!

Free and Whimsical

'Sky's The Limit'

“Only make moves when your heart’s in it, and live the phrase ‘Sky’s the Limit’.”

The whole of yesterday I felt so beautiful, inside and out. Not only beautiful but also like I am capable of doing anything I want to do, If I just go for it.

For a very long time (2years), I have been not liking myself inside nor outside and even stopped looking at the mirror. A lot of anger, a lot of resentment, a lot of insecurities were built from a very bad experience I had 2 years ago.

And only yesterday I felt relief, like I am back but still need to push myself to go further and for bigger dreams that I have been reserving. I guess what I mean to say is, I am Slowly coming out of my comfort zone into my old self and even better.

It's so beautiful the feeling I have now, that I can approach anyone I feel relevant to approach.

This whole energy and courage came after speaking to my only sibling, my little sister. See, with my sister I can rave on about anything and in the end she will know exactly what my problem is and get me out of it. That's a skill I love about her!

She was also in her own emotion whirlwind, feeling like moving away from where she is, not liking what she is doing and everything that comes with it. And badly wanted to get out of it... and after we spoke, she is much happier and I too so much happier.

I set goals for myself and promised her because I know I won't break a promise when it comes to her. I have been finding myself reading again, exercising, waking up early, approaching people and building relationships that I have been reserved to do.

So thanking Allah for this and my little Angel!

The feeling is so good and i want it to get better and better!

Have a great weekend!

My Style My Way

So I asked one of my friends to describe my style, and she sent this. I must say on point, I love Vintage Classics with much inspiration from Jackie O the style maven herself. I love pencil skirts, White button downs, Straight bootleg trousers, Dresses, flat shoes, kitten heels. I have so many high heels but 95% probably have either never been worn or only once when I go out in the night. I always feel taller than everyone and like I'm looking all down : D I'm mad like that but most of my friends are short or my just tall, figure it out : D

I heart polka dots and looking for the perfect polka dot dress at the moment. I have 2 that are just identical in style just  one black and white polka dots and vice versa. My mother thought it would be great two buy me two since I looked great in the first one : P Love her though

My Style is simple and sleek all at once and I'm getting fond of the lipstick however light I can wear it of-course that's the best for me : )

Love this Vogue shot so much now I want that suit.

What's your style?

Creative Turns

I am inspired by art, fashion, design, poetry, architecture. Inspired what people's minds can conjure up in the midst of all the worldly things.

What inspires me is the process in between that leads to a final product.

I am inspired to succeed!

Be Inspired!

FT's Pick

Have fun with your look within your comfort zone ; )

It's about that time!

Comfort Zone

Your comfort Zone is that SMALL space you feel you can be who you are. And many of us find it very hard to get out of that small box you call comfort zone. Out of fear of rejection from the outside, sometimes it's just the fear of not knowing what to do, or where to start once you are out there.

Comfort Zone, that warm space you can cosy up and feel so free to be whatever you want to be despite of what people will think because at the end of the day those people know you.

How many of us, spend everyday trying to get out of our comfort zone and end up wasting a day procrastinating on whether you should get out of that comfort zone or not. Raise your hands up, I just did! I do that a lot when it comes to approaching people, in the end it takes courage.

When it comes to my work, I always go out of the box and make sure it is excellent. You see, I am a strong believer in let the work speak for itself. But then again, is that enough in Africa? it maybe enough in the western world but here you have to add the talk with the walk. You will find a lot of people who have the talk and less of the walk will move further forward than those who let their work speak for itself.

One of the reason is, most believe in cost consciousness in making any decision, I add corruption to this. Quality takes hard work to be bought and the right people with a lot of challenges.

We experience it everywhere around us in Tanzania, My husband and I have own Advertising, Digital media agency and we also do printing. On the side as you know I have FT Boutique and on the side my hubby is a DJ. These are our passions and we work hard. I believe when it comes to fashion for me and music for my husband, we always get out of our comfort zone. Nothing less than perfection we will provide and it always hurts more when there's a little hitch.

When it comes to our daily creative jobs we always meet with these quantity before quality minded individuals, is it that they are afraid of getting out of their comfort zone. To be taught to purchase quality! Yet again, my conscious tells me I for one have an excellent skill in staying in my comfort zone. : ) So who am I to say...

New Confidence

Hello Ladies, yes yes i've gone MIA but always for a reason. I was away for a little while, sometimes a girl just needs to get away. You learn a lot through travelling especially to a more developed world. The creativity they embrace is amazing. You see, I think a country needs to embrace it's people's talents and I believe there are a lot of creative people who are not supported in Tanzania let a lone Africa.

I see a lot of creatively minded people who in away are very clever to use their skill of self branding as a way to make life happen through Fashion, and other businesses. Whatever makes you money eyyi! Even if someone doesn't have the talent it can pass as long as you sell your Name, tisk Africa. It is branding after all, thus it is a talent : )

In celebrating myself, as a woman of the worlds, I want to embrace New Confidence. Isn't that one of the things I'm working on this year. It's hard because I've gone through a lot in the last couple of years and it has really shunned my trust in people whoever you maybe. That's the worst thing in the world, to not be able to be free, make new friendships or with a tendency to even reduce the ones you have. Some saying i'm intimidating and quiet, some not approachable never boastful, Thank God!

But those who know me say I am talkative, too caring so easily hurt. I laugh a lot and get angry quick but do not like to stay angry for more than a second. The worst of my habits are that I will forgive but I will never forget so I will move the furthest away from you. But I never shun a friend in need if what he or she did wasn't too big.

In my moving back home, the first year was the worst but I am just settling and want to get back my social life and confidence. I feel I have healed inside so now let's make the next step.

What would you do if you were in my place? I know a lot of you who read my blog also have some insecurities that may deter you from moving forward in some way or another.

Rock the Turban

Hair Styles

I am currently finding my way into my next style. A drastic change or a subtle change but I am thinking maybe:
I can do curls, My sister got the most beautiful of curly hair so I will try get them from her or when I travel

I love this but is there a way of doing the dreads without cutting your hair or going completely natural? Either way, I love this

The next option I think is just this one which I haven't since i was in high school (damn the hairstyles I used to do then, I did bangs like le'toya when she was in destiny's child, then Janet Jackson when she had the red curls, OOoh yeah I had the Patra look ala Solange right now long as such, Then I cut my hair like Kelly Rowland short, in the end I missed my loooong hair)

So, what's next?

At Last... I know exactly what of this Year : )

So I finally found a soft copy of my henna picture. I loved this outfit made by a very talented lady who has now moved to Oman unfortunately. This day was just magical and lots of dancing and was so tired and had to stay up to apply henna the whole night but so worth it!
Me getting ready for my henna day...

Being the Best Wife I Can
Well you know I was married last year to my life partner. Being at the beginning of this adventure together, now is the time to establish ways to become the best wife and life partner that I can be! I'm certainly no expert on the matter of marriage but I do know that life will be full of ups & downs. I also know that having my life anchored in good values will make any challenge bearable! In any relationship, being able to forgive and accept of the other's faults will make any relationship successful.

Never Stop Learning
The learning doesn't stop at a university and after obtaining three degrees, I still yearn for more! I so admire those people who know a little bit about everything! I'm not going to limit myself to what amazing knowledge the world has to offer. I've decided to always have a hobby I'm loving, a book I'm reading, and a place I am visiting. Like hubby and I have decided on taking on road trips every weekend and we've learned a lot from our last road trip so cant wait for this weekend.

New Confidence
Everyone has their insecurities for whatever reason. Recently I've realized that I've missed out on so many opportunities, adventures, friendships, and accomplishments because of fear or worrying what others might think! Really, it's so not worth giving up so much because of silly thoughts! Getting out of your "comfort zone" is no easy task but one that will open a million new doors. This will be different for every person. For me it may be: starting a conversation with a stranger, being myself around people I don't know, telling the joke anyways, knowing that everyone makes mistakes, and sticking up for what I believe.

Be my Valentine... : )

P.S. It's love at first site!

A journey soon to arrive...

Finishing Touches for every woman, obvious as they maybe, some do not need to be overly blinged to look fabulous. I love this fusion, its fantastic!

striving for perfection

In striving for perfection depending on others will let you down,
In striving for perfection build yourself and surround yourself with excellence,
In striving for perfection do not compromise on having the best at whatever cost,
I am striving for excellence, I am perfection with God behind, to the side to the back,
I strive for Perfection.

In striving for perfection leave room for mistakes but learn from them,
In striving for perfection remember only God is perfect but there's a perfect in being imperfect,
I am perfection, I will be perfection as I strive for perfection.
