Today's pick

Ok my pick for today, it's friday ladies...

Style Zodiac

I am a Libra and I normally don't believe in Zodiacs, I just wanted to know what it says about my style and they are so on point!!

Libra

Venus rules sensual Libra natives, so they are very tactile. Their sense of touch has a lot to do with how they choose clothing, and they prefer silks and cottons to scratchy wools. Librans can be surprisingly finicky about clothing, and they are the first to visit a tailor if the cut of a suit or a dress is not quite right. This sign loves balance and beauty and believe that clothing should perfectly compliment the figure. At work, power-dressing Librans will choose sleek, tailored suits in jewel-tones or slimming black. They are not much for frills or an excess of jewelry and prefer to sport gold hoops or simple pearl studs as earrings. For relaxing, they prefer well-fitting, casual clothing in their favorite colors, pink and black. Librans love Capri pants and similar items that are sexy as well as practical. For an evening out, simplicity is the key to the Libran style. They either prefer tight clothing, such as the little black Lycra dress or they will dress in a theme that subtly reminds you of another era, such as the 1970s or the 1950s. Librans have a delicate sense of balance so they prefer flat heels to high heels. When it comes to looking fashionable, they definitely believe, like Jackie O, Katherine Hepburn and Audrey Hepburn that "less is more."

Sharing is Caring

Hi Ladies, Well I found this on ugpulse.com. I was actually just browsing through and found this article about Rachel Temu. I have seen a lot of this girl around blogs but I never knew most of the things she was doing apart from doing the Miss Africa USA, I quite prefer her with less make up as she shows her natural beauty but of course it's ones preference that matters. I am not a fan of pageants but I am a fan of a woman with a purpose. So I thought why not share this with you all. Pictures and all credited to UGpulse:

Miss Africa USA 2007: Delegate Rachel Anderson Temu of Tanzania

Rachel Anderson Temu, who was crowned Miss Africa California U.S.A. for 2007-2008 is now eyeing the Miss Africa U.S.A crown. She is now involved in several activities that carry responsibilities at national and international levels. At the national (Tanzania) level, she is serving as the youth permanent member of Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM). Rachel is currently among the Co-Founders of Tanzania Youth Parliamentary system. She is also the legal affairs head for Equal Opportunities Trust Fund under first lady Mama Anna Mkapa. However, she is advocating the rights for children who are mentally retarded at Sinza Kwanza Special School. In addition, she is the panel member for Tanzania Tourism after she became the 1st Runner up on Miss Arusha 2002.

Below is Manyuan Saidia Reffell-Davis' UGPulse interview with UGPulse Beauty Editor, Pauline Long.

What was your drive behind entering this prestigious beauty pageant?
My drive behind entering this prestigious beauty pageant was first to acquire the scholarship in order to graduate in my first degree on international relations and politics, then later join my masters program focusing on the same field. I believe that in order to be a beauty queen, I need to have qualifications and maintain my 'beauty with a purpose'. To elaborate further, beauty with purpose usually carries the nature and nurture that lead to a woman's survival. When it comes to nature I qualify with a beautiful face, shape, and warmth and a caring giving heart. On the nurture side, I have education that holds my career, doing charity work with UNESCO, and teaching Swahili language in Arizona.

What is it you love most about Tanzania?
Tanzania is one of the unique destinations on the African continent that has yet to be discovered by many. It is a land of many wonders with an un-paralleled diversity of fauna and flora, Kilimanjaro, the highest permanently snow-capped free standing mountain in Africa, the exotic Island of Zanzibar, the finest game sanctuaries of Serengeti, Tarangire, lake manyara,Ngorongoro Crater, Ruaha, Selous and the Marine Park of Mafia Island are only but a few of the living examples. The scenery, topography and very friendly people harbor the growth of excellent cultural tourism, beach holidays, game hunting, historical and archaeological ventures - and certainly the best wildlife photographic safaris on the continent.

What book are you currently reading?
The book that I love to read is "The Secret." By Rhonda Byrne.

What is the one thing you would never do without?
The one thing I would never do without is, taking medications without prescription and directions from the physician. This is due to the fact; medicines are too dangerous to human life. Therefore, I always see my doctor when I suffer from any pain or sickness before I take any medication.

Africa is the second largest continent in the world and it would certainly take a lot of effort to represent it, how would you portray Africa and its people as an ambassador to USA and the rest of the world?
When you think of Africa you think seriously large. From the continental land mass to its individual parts, the scale is massive. Besides having the second largest continental surface area, containing 54 nations within its boundaries, it is also home to the River Nile, the longest river in the world, and also some very large lakes. As well as huge deserts, rivers and lakes, the continent also has high mountains containing igneous rocks and large swathes of ecologically important rain forest. Because of the African continent's sheer size and varied geology, a wide variety of important metal ores and also diamonds are mined. Many African nations are well known, from Morocco in the north through Ghana, Kenya, and Tanzania to South Africa. South Africa, which is more developed than many of its neighbors, is making real efforts to develop its tourist trade. Abundant wildlife and areas of natural beauty, as well as availability of affordable high quality local wines makes South Africa attractive to visitors from Europe, Canada and the USA.

Currently, I am an ambassador for my lovely and beautiful country Tanzania towards promoting the Swahili language and Tourism Industry. Through the experience I have, I will sell Africa by promoting African attire that is used in different countries. There is a statement said, "Charity begins at home," I will use the nature of my beauty to do fashion shows and at the same time finding the market for the attires. However, fame sells, to be an African ambassador will create fame for me that I can use on promoting the tourism industry in Africa. For instance, Kenya, Tanzania, and South Africa are the leading countries for big National parks all over the world. Therefore, I will use seminars, writing articles, be a motivational speaker, create brochures, and provide Internet sources to the people so they can understand what and where is Africa. When it comes to the mining, Africa is blessed with Diamond, Tanzanite, and other gem stones. At this moment I promote African gemstones through recommending buyers or customers where are the best places to get the gemstones. At last, I will create my own website so I can keep in touch with people all over the world, since Internet is the first communication centre.

How would you describe beauty in the eyes of an African woman?
The beauty in the eyes of African woman is; she exercises good judgment, she is intellectual, well behaved, and honorable, she is worthy. African women are family oriented and grounded. However, she is morally excellent.

What are your inspirations and what do you aspire to be?
My inspiration comes from my mother who is the foundation of our family. She kept our family together through ups and downs and she is my definition of strength. I aspire to be a role model in my community, fighting against child labor, the HIV/AIDS crisis, civil war, and domestic violence. I will use my education to educate my African community on serious topics that affect their world on a daily basis.

Miss Africa Unites States is a prestigious title indeed and Tanzanians would be proud if you were appointed to represent them. Why do you think you be crowned Miss Africa United States?
I would be happy to crowned Miss Africa United States so that I can have an opportunity to meet with other Africans who live in America and outside America. I would also like to share different ideas on what to do for our lovely African continent, for example, the HIV/AIDS crisis, and to do more research on malaria diagnosis. In addition, I will represent my fellow Africans regarding the problem of immigration that led to overstaying visas and brain drains. This can be done by writing the letter for proposal and make a vote

Before I let you go, have you got any beauty tips you would want to share with UGPulse readers?
Sure I got few beauty tips to share with the UGPulse. First, buy clothes that fit your body frame. Second, in order to have the great skin a person needs to wash his/her face after clubbing or coming from work. Do not sleep with your make up after work or clubbing because it creates wrinkles. Third, eat a balanced diet meal and exercise regularly.

I love this patent purple by zac posen
My favourite ofcourse,marc jacobs
Loving the dress

My favourite model, miss kibede wearing those hot gladiatore shoes with her purple dress.

A little tip ladies, if you want to know a particular colour is good for your skin, try putting a fabric or even trying an outfit in that colour. If the colour makes you look dark, it's not for you, if the colour brightens up your face, do buy!! Same goes for shoes, some shoe colours make your feet look darker and look dirty yet some brighten your feet. Remember, an outfit shouldn't wear you, you should be wearing the outfit!!
