A creative lady, beautiful with her natural looking afro. Iove when a designer dresses to impress and sells her own clothes by wearing them. She is inspiring and one of my favourite up and coming designers.
Tori-Nichel, an upcoming fashion designer, grew up in the suburbs of Detroit. While she was in high school, she studied fashion and went on to study at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. She was a fabric researcher for Dana Buchman, a designer who was approached by Liz Claiborne and became a designer for Claiborne's knit wear, and
later moved up to senior designer for the women's division of Kenneth Cole's ready-to-wear.
In 2006, Tori-Nichel started her own line. She describes her style as "tailored eclectic." Although she has only two collections, she's been featured in Essence, Trace and New York magazines, and others. She describes her customer as "ageless." She says "It’s more a state of mind. She loves to look and dress tastefully sexy. She dresses for her significant other and her girlfriends. She’s confident and independent…she’s a bit of an impulsive shopper, but never regrets a purchase. She’s a style maven and knows it.”
