R.I.P. Kanumba
Tanzania woke up with a huge shock this morning that one of the biggest actors, Steven Kanumba has died. At a young age, I am not going to say gone too soon because to God there's no such thing.
His time has come and God has decided to take his soul no matter what the cause of it is.
Kanumba is one of the Actors/Director who made Tanzanian Movie industry known in Africa and around the world. What I am amazed with is the fact that he never let anything even his grammatical errors when it comes to speaking English over shadow him. He would just speak as though if you noticed it's your own problem man.
I am not such a big fan of TZ movies (even though my grandmother has made a couple that I am proud of, Yes I have a very energetic and business minded grandmother who never tires to amaze me). However I have watched a couple and the most prominent person has been this man right here.
The other notable part about Kanumba is his style, this is the only person who has been proud to wear silk sheer shirts and colourful suits without care.
For all this I salut him and I remind Tanzania that the best thing is to pray for his soul and remember only Allah knows when we will depart.
Rest In Peace Mr. Kanumba.

A Master of everything is a stressed and busy soul!
I found this in my usual browsing of the net and it touched a cord that I have been trying to define.
Lately I have been feeling that I am doing so much and everything all at the same time. So I took a back sit and realised wait a minute, that ain't where I am going.
In life you always have to look back and analyse if that was the vision you had set up for your mission in the beginning.
There are so many sayings in this world but I believe one has to analyse the practical reality vs the people's 'wisdom'. I don't believe in the saying 'Jack of all trades master of none'. I have seen many master different trades but the difference is they master one and get on to the other not trying to Master everything at once then they have so many trades that they have mastered.
Tell that to my perfectionist self huh! I'll get there though as long as I stick to Mastering one at a time
: D
My other problem is I'm a Libra and we get bored quickly like seriously, We always have to have a challenge to perfect and get on to the next one but one challenge at a time.
That is my advise for today, Master the now then move on to the next.
Love FT.

ZARAMU Designs Fashion Show at NFM
Zaramu designs is a clothing line by my mother in law supported by my sister in law, they make beautiful african inspired dresses but also interiors (love my pilows). My mother in law is very talented, she has made so many things, I guess i'm blessed with talented mothers who love tailor making everything to perfection.
Enjoy! Here is her collection which was SOLD OUT Straight out of the runway.
NFM LOOKS
This is my sister in law (Lynette Anderson), the organiser of Nairobi Fashion Market looking radiant. That's what I call casual chic!!
I loved this girl's dress and even the skirt on the second day but I wasn't in the mood for photographs on the second day just shopping : )
This is the designer and creator of the feather collars, Ambica Shah of Kapoeta Designs who makes earrings and everything she is wearing (minus glasses)! I loved her style very whimsical and lingerie inspired
NAIROBI FASHION MARKET
I enjoyed this event so much, especially on day 1, it was vibrant and it was truly a market place. I thought i'd share with you all the experience.
It was done in rows of 4 or 5 i think on a huge ground then separated the sitting areas, fashion show and eating areas
I loved these feathers so much, they are real feathers and I bought myself a pair of earrings I can't wait to adorn

Nairobi Fashion Market
So Friday we flew to Nairobi to surprise my mother in law and sister in law ( the founder of Nairobi Fashion Market).
Day 1 was a great event, it was proper packed and the fashion shows (one which was by mother in law, I will load pics when i get back to Dar forgot my cable o_O)!
My hubby's fam (his 4 out of 6 sisters) and I were busy screaming and dancing at the VIP tent. My hubby got to DJ... Love you Dj Soulful! That's his passion and he really does it well when he is up there. Yesterday's set was off the hook though!
The lingeries show at 7.30pm was wooh ok let's leave it at Victoria Secret like ; )
Anyway I'll upload pics when I get back (without the lingerie show i'm afraid, I was too busy covering my husband's eyes to take photos : P)

Learning to Love yourself...
This song got me through times when I felt lower than I should. It's my mother's favourite song, she once called me at 5am and said, "kimami, just listen to Greatest love of all by Whitney Houston for me then call me back."
When I finished listening to each words, I found myself bawling, tears dripping down like I just realised something that was the best and I should have been doing a long time ago. I called my mum and just said, "I love you mama." and she understood, didn't have to say anything else. From that day on words, I decided that learning to love myself is the greatest love of all. It has made me a strong and a confident woman.
So this morning I woke up and saw 'Whitney Houston found dead', and that was the first thing that came to mind.
Actually the first song that made me fall in love with this woman was 'Dance with Somebody,' my mum and I would dance like her. My mum was as skinny as Whitney so she would say, ' enzi zetu, we used to dance like that' and pull me out of the chair to copy her moves since then I loved whitney.
A lost soul in the last decade she was really, but her music has lived on as if she doesn't exist and so many of us had high hopes of her getting to where she was.
I dedicate this post to the woman who stuck those words, 'learning to love yourself is the greatest love of all.'
Rest in Peace Ms. Houston <3

Pastelles are the IT!
It's early 2012 and I am in love with pastels (not Neons). I believe they are soft and lady like! Whether just accents (lips, accessories etc.) or full outfit I feel it brings out the lady in you.
My thing now is actually nail colour, so I every Saturday after my one and half hour Yoga lesson, I look forward to my pedicure and manicure. Thank God for my mums ability! I believe if you love something you should do it the way it is professionally done. I love my times at Top Knots (mum's hair & beauty Salon). OPI nail colours are the IT!

BEAUTY WITHIN - Dead Prez
I just had to share, it is such a beautiful song and the video too. It feels great to be such a natural girl : D A lot of us women always find it hard to love ourselves because there's always a misconception of the perfect.
I LOVE MY AFRICAN DARK SKIN, MY NATURAL HAIR AND THE FACT THAT I LOVE ME FROM INSIDE TO OUTSIDE! I don't need make -up everyday to look beautiful or full on weaves throughout the year ( not judging anyone though stick to being you)
I DON'T FEEL THE NEED TO BE LIKE EVERY OTHER GIRL AROUND THIS WORLD, I'M ME AND I LOVE IT!
LOVE YOURSELVES LADIES.
LOVE,
FT!

Weekend and all
Hi Lovelies, I hope you've had a love weekend. Eid Mubarak to all my Muslim readers. Eid was great, after being sick yet still working the whole week even Saturday. It was nice to have my Aunty over, she has always taken care of me. She is so sweet, we cooked the lovely food and spent the whole day with kiddos around us.
We never miss Eid prayers and the speech today hit right home and made me feel just a bit stronger, just a bit more patience.
So today, I'd like to urge you all to be very patient whilst working hard in life, God will answer your prayers sooner or later.
Love FT.

Never stop challenging yourself
1. Is life monotone?
Is your life monotone? Is there little excitement or challenge? Do you feel an urge to try new things? Are you becoming restless? Admitting this is the first step in embarking on new things. Just ask yourself if you are ready to push yourself a bit.
2. What is calling out to you?
Have you always dreamed of running a marathon? Have you thought about tackling a fourteener? Are you itching to put your name in the running for a promotion? What have you considered in the past that you have never given much thought to? Write down some ideas to get you started. Now place a star next to the one that is calling out to you the loudest.
3. Move forward
Now that you have an idea of the challenge that you might want to embark on, it's time to take action. A goal is pointless if you don't detail and move forward with the action portion. Even if it is baby steps, you are doing something that you weren't doing before. So, don't beat yourself up if you don't move at a fast pace. Just list the steps that you would need to take to begin your journey.
